S. Jakarta Promotes Enhanced Role of Sectoral Statistics

South Jakarta Communication, Informatics, and Statistics (Kominfotik) Sub-agency held an online socialization on "Enhancing the Role of Sectoral Statistics in the National Statistical System".

South Jakarta Deputy Mayor, Ali Murthadho, stated that the initiative plays an important role in strengthening collaboration between local governments, statistical institutions, and academics to provide accurate, integrated, and useful data that supports targeted sectoral statistical development.

“We hope this event provides participants with a deeper understanding of the importance of coordinating and synchronizing sectoral data, and how future data collection efforts can support sustainable development policies in South Jakarta,” he said on Tuesday (10/7).

Meanwhile, Acting Head of the South Jakarta Kominfotik Sub-agency, Nuruning Septarida, noted that the virtual session, attended by 115 participants, sought to improve OPDs' understanding of their role in generating reliable, integrated data to strengthen the Satu Data Jakarta initiative.

She hoped that the session would also contribute to good governance through enhanced transparency, accountability, participation, and effectiveness in public policy.

“These principles can only be realized if the government has accurate, up-to-date, and accountable data,” she asserted.

According to her, the role of sectoral statistics is strategic, as statistical data are not merely numbers, but essential foundations for planning, implementing, and evaluating development programs.

With an integrated statistical approach, Nuruning added, every policy decision made at the urban village, sub-district, or city level can be more targeted and results-oriented for the community.

“We hope this event not only serves as a knowledge-sharing forum but also becomes a momentum to strengthen cross-sector collaboration in building a reliable, transparent, and interconnected data system that forms the foundation for adaptive, data-driven governance,” she shared .
